Well that's it. Everyone pack up and go home. Toyota has confirmed a hybrid GT86 is now in development.
According to Toyota’s senior manager for drivetrain engineering, Koei Saga, "The !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! is quite advanced now, so if the green light is given, we are ready to do it." Hopefully that green light never shines, although if this results in a power boost I'll have some pretty mixed feelings.
Several new supercar concepts are integrating electric power. It sounds like automotive blasphemy, but a hybrid option could broaden the car's appeal to a larger market and possibly increase the sales numbers.
Patrick George !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! back in March. Now I'm getting scared.

Depends entirely on the type of system.
An 0-30mph motor that provides primary motor, and then kicks in the gas motor when you need it on the highway so you save gas? No. Fuck that.
A 4WD system that lets the gas power the rear wheels and an electric motor on the front, screwing with the pure and simple handling? No. Fuck that.
Primarily driving with a gas motor that gets assistive power from an electric motor at the driveshaft when you have the juice that scales with the throttle use, yet full available power on demand (like KERS)? Fuck yes.

I really hope it's a KERS system as well. Not that I'm in the market, I just think that it's a great use of hybrid tech.

I might make mine a hybrid (sort of)
There is some interesting work being done on a full throttle electric supercharger for the fr-s. Basically it acts in the real world like NOS does in videogames, it provides a 5psi (roughly +45HP) boost under full throttle, and recharges a battery at all other times. Claimed weight gain is only 9lbs.
I'm going to follow the development pretty closely.

Only if they call if a Prius Coupe

If they styled it properly, I see no reason why there should not be a prius coupe. I have absolutely no problem with the prius except for how fucking ugly it is.

I knew the GT86 was a trap.

I think Toyota realized that the people who were most likely to buy a Prius would be more satisfied with an ugly car because the car would be used as a form of self-punishment, for right or wrong these people think human are acting in a manner outside of natures intentions. Which is weird considering alot of them are atheists, implies they have deep down thoughts that god exists.
